About Me
I’m a storyteller at heart—working across film, music, and live experiences to explore faith, identity, and the quiet moments that shape who we become. My love for music and media began early, growing up in a family of creatives and musicians who shaped my ear, my curiosity, and my sense of possibility long before I knew this would become my life’s work.
That foundation led me to study Recording Arts at Full Sail University, where I graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science. While music was the entry point, collaboration and shared learning there sparked a deeper appreciation for film and video editing—where sound and story meet to create something immersive and lasting.
Over time, that passion expanded into visual storytelling through projects like Heaven’s Joy, a short film that reflects my desire to tell faith-centered stories with care, nuance, and cinematic intention. Whether on screen or through sound, I’m drawn to work that feels honest, reflective, and rooted in real human experience.
As a musician, Jelani (Juh-lawn-ee) Malik is an Orlando-based Christian artist originally from Long Island, bringing East Coast lyricism together with a progressive, genre-blending approach. Raised around music from a young age, I’ve been shaped by both family and influences like S1W Bro. Mike and THE DREW of the legendary group Public Enemy. My music is created with the intention of building faith, hope, and awareness—without losing its edge or authenticity.
Across every medium, I don’t create to chase attention. I create because there are stories that won’t leave me alone—and I’ve learned to listen.
